Some hearts just feel more.
More deeply, more strongly,
especially when it comes to letting go —
even for a little while.
Some of us don’t just miss people— we break a little when they walk away.
Not a casual, “See you soon,” but a deep, gnawing fear
that this might be the last time.
We text and call and ask again, “Are you okay? Are you safe?” Not because we don’t trust— but because our minds spiral with “what-ifs” about crashes, disappearances,
or never getting to say goodbye.
We drag our feet before school or work,
not from laziness—
but because walking into those places
without them
feels like drowning in silence.
They say we’re “too dependent.”
But they don’t feel our stomach clench
when someone’s five minutes late,
or our chest tighten
when we say goodnight and they’re not home yet.
We try to sleep—
but the dreams come back. Accidents. Abandonment.
Empty houses.
We wake up reaching for a voice
we can’t find, We don’t just fear being alone—
We fear being left.
Left behind.
Left out.
Left in a world that suddenly feels unsafe
without the people we love.
So if you’re tired
If your thoughts feel too loud
If your fears have faces-
Talk
Because healing isn’t a miracle
It is a process,
A conversation,
A small light turned on in a room
That’s been dark for too long
You deserve that light
You deserve to feel safe
In your mind,
In your body,
In the world again.
You are not what you are going through
But knowing what it is
Is the first step
In taking back your story
